The Heimdal MAC 3.6.3 is now available for download from the Guide → Download and install tab of the Heimdal RC Dashboard. At the same time, we have begun a phased rollout through the agent's self-update mechanism.
The Heimdal MAC 3.6.3 RC introduces further enhancements to our 3ʳᵈ Party Patch Management product module, making application patching more reliable and giving end users greater flexibility when automated software patching is initiated.
The Heimdal macOS Agent now displays a notification allowing end users to install the update immediately, postpone it when needed or dismiss the notification for that update. The patch installation can be postponed up to three times, with a 10-minute interval between prompts, helping minimize disruption while maintaining an effective patching process.
Third-party applications are also automatically closed before the patch is applied, reducing the risk of interrupted or unsuccessful updates.
The postponement functionality is currently available at agent level, with Group Policy configurability being considered as part of our ongoing drive towards feature parity between macOS and Windows.
Heimdal MAC 3.6.3 also introduces new Finder Quick Actions, bringing Heimdal functionality directly into the macOS right-click experience.
Users can now right-click files and folders and access Heimdal actions from the Quick Actions menu to initiate a Next-Gen Antivirus scan or use Run with Admin Privileges. The functionality also extends to files and folders stored in iCloud Drive and OneDrive, providing the same convenient access across commonly used cloud-storage locations.
Alongside the main additions outlined above, Heimdal MAC 3.6.3 delivers a broad set of stability and reliability improvements across DNS Security Endpoint (DarkLayer Guard™), Next-Gen Antivirus, PEDM, Ransomware Encryption Protection and agent deployment workflows.
3.6.3 RC Improvements & Fixes
- DNS Security Endpoint (DarkLayer Guard™): improved DNS resilience by automatically restoring the system DNS configuration if the upstream DNS server becomes unresponsive. Also fixed an issue that could prevent DNS filtering from starting correctly after upgrading from macOS Agent 3.5.x.
- Next-Gen Antivirus: improved scanning coverage for protected user folders, enhanced detection within ZIP archives and more reliable quarantine handling.
- PEDM: improved administrator rights removal when access is revoked.
- Ransomware Encryption Protection: reduced false positives and extended exclusion support to include wildcards.

- improved Heimdal macOS Agent deployment through Microsoft Intune.
- the Heimdal macOS Agent uninstaller can now be safely executed through Microsoft Intune.
