To request the addition of a new 3rd-party application in the 3rd Party Patch Management program, adhere to the following protocol:
1. Check our voting list to see if the 3rd-party application is already nominated for implementation.
2. If present on the voting list, cast your vote for the application. Upon receiving 40 votes, the 3rd-party application will be added to the 3rd Party Patch Management list. Post-voting, you can check the current vote count for your software.
3. If the software is absent from the voting list, submit a ticket to our Support Team for its nomination. The software must meet specific criteria to qualify for listing:
-
- Must be freeware (a download link and the latest available version need to be visible on the vendor's website);
- Should support silent installation;
- Must not include bloatware or unnecessary applications;
- Requires a complete offline/standalone installer;
- Should automatically overwrite its previous version upon updating;
- Must display a standard version number in the add/remove programs section (DisplayVersion and DisplayName properties in the Windows Registry);
- Needs to support silent uninstall;
- Should be a widely used application;
- Must be patchable via the HEIMDAL Agent when the application is in use or closed.
Only software fulfilling all these criteria will be considered for addition to the voting list. Non-compliant applications will not be eligible for implementation.
