Heimdal Agent
- The embedded license key works only if the deployment is made silently.
- A customer doesn’t have the option to stop the Heimdal Agent from auto-updating, only support can do that for a customer.
- The Heimdal Agent continues to work on Window 7, but we are not developing or doing bug fixing for this operating system.
- Before deploying the Heimdal Agent, we recommend you check the following article for the necessary exclusions in the firewall or other 3rd party tools: https://support.heimdalsecurity.com/hc/en-us/articles/207631975-System-Requirements-and-Firewall-Exceptions
- The Heimdal Agent does not support non-persistent desktops if they are generated from the same golden image.
- When deploying the Heimdal Agent on Servers it is recommended to enable the Do Not show GUI option in the group policy settings.
- A lower version of the Heimdal Agent cannot be installed over a higher version of the Agent.
Heimdal Dashboard
- You cannot have multiple login accounts on the same email address.
- You cannot apply more than one group policy to an endpoint/device.
- A machine that is renamed but has the same motherboard and HDD serial key will appear twice in the Heimdal Dashboard.
- A customer is not able to delete a machine from the Active Clients view. Only Support can do that.
DNS Security
- DarkLayer Guard cannot work with a similar tool that has the same behavior, for example, Cisco Umbrella.
- If the customer uses a VPN, before enabling DarkLayer Guard it is recommended to contact Support to ask for the best custom settings.
- DarkLayer Guard does not work with VPN solutions that do not support split-tunnel or split-exclusion.
3rd Party Patch Management
- The Heimdal Agent cannot patch an application if the endpoint/device is shut down.
- You cannot select an application to be installed/patched at the same time as the application is added to the Applications Blocklist.
- The Heimdal Agent can only uninstall applications that have been installed from an MSI installer or have a QuietUninstallString in the Windows Registry. In order to check if an application can be uninstalled by the Heimdal Agent, please check the Assets view -> Uninstallable column.
Infinity Management
- In order for the Heimdal Agent to be able to deploy an application, the application needs to support silent installation.
- Infinity Management supports only EXE, MSI, ZIP, and MSP files.
- Infinity Management works only on Windows and Ubuntu environments.
- Infinity Management can only deploy batch scripts and PowerShell scripts.
