We want to inform you about the release of two new Heimdal™ Agent versions (for Windows): 2.5.398 Prod and 2.5.401 Release Candidate. Both are available for download in the Guide section of the Heimdal Dashboards and they will be rolled out gradually during the course of the upcoming weeks.
Both 2.5.398 Prod and 2.5.401 RC include a fix related to the vulnerability of the Heimdal.Wizard.exe file (which was triggered when a repairing Heimdal Thor Agent in Control Panel) which allowed a standard user (without rights) to open Command-Prompt or PowerShell as NT Authority\System.
The 2.5.398 Prod includes a fix related to an issue caused by a Microsoft Update that automatically triggered some machines to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. The problem occurred when the Optional updates functionality was enabled in the Group Policy section of the Heimdal Dashboard. The proposed solution consists of a check box called Prevent Windows 11 auto-upgrade, which is enabled by default and prevents this behavior.
The 2.5.401 RC includes the above-mentioned Microsoft Updates fix, plus a fix related to a problem caused by Google Chrome's EXE installer which, in some instances, conflicted was downgraded by the 3rd Party Software module from the x64 architecture to the x86 architecture during the patching operation.
