OUTBOUND LIMITS
An Enterprise customer can set their limits for the outbound flow in the Limits section of the HEIMDAL Dashboard:
- 10 to 200 emails can be sent per minute;
- 500 to 10,000 emails can be sent per day (24 hours);
- 200 emails/hour if the sending email address is hard coded by the Dev Team in Email Security (You are only allowed to send 200 bulk messages per hour, try later ...).
OUTBOUND RULES
Email Security intercepts outbound emails and blocks them from being sent out to recipients if they don't comply with the following rules:
- If a user sends at least 15 emails that are classified as CONFIRMED SPAM and have a score over 1, the following emails will get REJECTED (status REJECT);
- If a user sends at least 15 emails that have a score of 6 or above, the following emails will get REJECTED (status REJECT);
- If a user sends an email that contains a virus, the email will get REJECTED (type VIRUS, status REJECT);
- If a user sends 200 bulk emails that are classified as HIGH POSSIBLE SPAM or have a score over 4, the following emails will be deferred to 200 emails/hour (status DEFER);
OUTBOUND ERROR MESSAGES (when Emails Security outbound rules are broken)
Email Security also intercepts outbound emails and delays them from being sent out to recipients if they don't comply with the following rules:
- The user is blocked for 60 minutes for sending email to over 5 unknown recipients.
The rule blocks the user for 60 minutes for trying to send emails to over 5 unknown recipients (mailboxes). The receiving Mail Server (where the recipient does not exist) should return an error message; - The user has exceeded the number of sent emails to unknown recipients in a 10-minute interval. Any sent email will be delayed/queued for 5 hours.
The sender has exceeded the number of allowed unknown recipients (5) in the Heimdal Email Security fair use policy. All emails sent by the sender are placed in QUEUE for the next 5 hours; - The user can send a maximum of 100 emails/hour if they sent at least 15 Spam emails in the last 24 hours. Emails will be deferred to 100 emails/hour.

All emails sent by the sender will get a DEFER status for the next hour; - The user can send a maximum of 10 emails/minute interval if they sent at least 15 Spam emails in the last 24 hours. Emails will be deferred to 10 emails/minute.
The user can send a maximum of 100 emails/hour if the sender has sent at least 15 Spam emails in the last 24 hours. All emails sent by the sender will get a DEFER status for the next hour. - The user has sent 200 bulk emails (with a HIGH POSSIBLE SPAM or score higher than 4). Emails will be deferred to 200 emails/hour.

IMPORTANT
The QUEUE status means that emails are put in QUEUE on the Email Security servers until they can be delivered to the recipient. The DEFER status means that emails are delayed by the receiving server until they are accepted.
