Below are the 3rd-party applications that were tested by the Heimdal Security team for implementation within the 3rd Party Patch Management, but that could not be added because of different issues.
- Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) MUI PRO or Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) PRO - the HEIMDAL Agent cannot patch any PRO version of Adobe Acrobat. Because Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) MUI PRO is listed with the Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) DisplayName property (in the Windows Registry), which is the same as the DisplayName of Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) MUI Free version, the HEIMDAL Agent will still detect it and try to patch it. For this reason, in case you have the PRO version of Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) installed, we recommend disabling patching for it.
- Greenshot - the application opens the developer's page in a browser after installation. The application cannot be patched while the previous version is still running.
- Slack (EXE Installer and MSI per-user) - these installers install in the User context and are not detected by the HEIMDAL Agent.
- Microsoft .NET Runtime 6, 8, 9 x86 - the x64 versions of these applications (which are already supported by 3rd Party Patch Management) register with 2 keys in the Uninstall path (one in the x86 hive and the other one in the x64 hive), and while the x86 versions registers with 2 keys in the Uninstall (but only in the x86 hive), we cannot manage both at the same time as the HEIMDAL Agent cannot detect which version is the x64 version and which version is the x86 version.
- Microsoft ASP.NET Core 6, 8, 9 x86 - the x64 versions of these applications (which are already supported by 3rd Party Patch Management) register with 2 keys in the Uninstall path (one in the x86 hive and the other one in the x64 hive), and while the x86 versions registers with 2 keys in the Uninstall (but only in the x86 hive), we cannot manage both at the same time as the HEIMDAL Agent cannot detect which version is the x64 version and which version is the x86 version.
- Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime 6, 8, 9 x86 - the x64 versions of these applications (which are already supported by 3rd Party Patch Management) register with 2 keys in the Uninstall path (one in the x86 hive and the other one in the x64 hive), and while the x86 versions registers with 2 keys in the Uninstall (but only in the x86 hive), we cannot manage both at the same time as the HEIMDAL Agent cannot detect which version is the x64 version and which version is the x86 version.
- Microsoft Teams - the application installs in the AppData folder of each user, thus requiring user permissions. The HEIMDAL Agent deploys the 3rd-party applications using the NT Authority\System user and thus cannot install the Microsoft Teams in the AppData folder.
- TeamViewer (MSI Installer with custom settings) - 3rd Party Patch Management cannot patch a customized version of TeamViewer.
- Zoom Workspace (the EXE Installer) - the EXE Installer does not allow silent installation, while the application (installed from the EXE Installer) cannot be detected by the 3rd Party Patch Management because it installs in the Windows AppData folder. The EXE Installer does not require admin rights to be installed.
