My antivirus has detected Heimdal as a security threat. What do I do?

Sometimes, when a new update from Heimdal is released, some antivirus products may detect this update as a threat.

These cases are called false-positives and it mean that your antivirus product detected something that it can't identify 100%, which is why it alerts you that it blocked something that CAN BE malicious.

In this situation, we recommend you submit a ticket or email us at support@heimdalsecurity.com and we will solve this issue by contacting your antivirus provider, which will then whitelist our new update so that you will no longer receive this alert.

See what Whitelisting and a False-Positive case mean.
